It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/02/20

What I Read Last Week

11 year old Marin moves to a new town, with a new baby brother, a mom with a new job as the dean of a nursing school and a dad who is looking for another teaching job.  One day she is exploring in the woods behind her house and sees a group of teenagers, as she approaches they disappear.  When she figures out that her neighbor Charley sees them and refers to them as Remarkables she is determined to figure out who they are.  She and Charley just might change the course of time as they uncover who and what the Remarkables are.

A collection of short stories that all take place during a large powwow festival at the University of Michigan. Each story is written by an #ownvoices author from multiple tribal nations. The stories have common threads of setting and characters that intermingle in the stories. A must include addition to library collections. Grades 4 and up.

What I Am Reading

A companion to Holt's National Book Award winner, When Zachary Beaver Came to Town set in 2002.  Never have I ever wanted to visit the Texas panhandle more than when I'm reading this book.  There have been moments I couldn't put it down.

What I Will Read

This Newbery Honor has been on my TBR stack and in my LibroFM cart for too long.  This is one I will read this week.
